The Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT), through its Chairman, Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin has welcomed two senior experts from FTI Consulting, UK, Andrew Durant and Wayne Anthony, who have arrived in Liberia to assist with asset tracing and recovery efforts.

Their visit marks a crucial step in Liberia’s commitment to retrieving misappropriated public assets.

Speaking on their arrival, Andrew Durant, Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, stated, “We are here to support Liberia’s efforts in tracing and recovering assets lost through illicit means. Our initial assessment will help identify key areas where we can provide technical expertise to strengthen the recovery process.”

Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin, Chairperson of AREPT, emphasized the importance of the collaboration between FTI consulting and AREPT, saying, “The presence of these experts reinforces the government’s determination to hold individuals accountable for corrupt practices. Their expertise will be invaluable in strengthening our asset recovery initiatives.”

During their two-week stay, the experts will conduct a case assessment at no cost, demonstrating FTI Consulting’s commitment to Liberia’s fight against corruption. Their extensive experience in forensic investigations will further enhance AREPT’s mandate under Executive Order No. 145.

AREPT remains committed to ensuring that recovered assets contribute to national development and accountability.
