Capitol Hill, Monrovia – On Tuesday, December 24, the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules, Order, and Administration, Hon. James M. Kolleh, set a shining example of servant leadership as he rolled up his sleeves and joined staff in a general cleanup campaign at the Capitol Building.
With broom in hand and surrounded by members of the Maintenance Department, Hon. Kolleh personally took part in sweeping, clearing debris, and beautifying the grounds of Liberia’s historic legislative headquarters. The initiative not only gave the Capitol a refreshing facelift but also symbolized a renewed commitment to discipline, accountability, and collective responsibility.
“A clean environment is a reflection of a well-organized institution. This initiative underscores our responsibility to preserve the integrity and aesthetics of the Capitol Building, which serves as the heart of our democracy,” Hon. Kolleh emphasized during the exercise.
The campaign was marked by teamwork and unity, as staff across departments came together with a shared sense of pride. Beyond the immediate improvements to the Capitol’s appearance, the exercise fostered stronger bonds among employees and reinforced the spirit of service within the institution.
Hon. Kolleh praised the Maintenance Department and all participants for their dedication and announced that such initiatives will become regular activities to ensure the Capitol remains not only functional but also a symbol of excellence for all Liberians.
The cleanup effort is part of a broader vision by the House of Representatives to maintain the Capitol as a beacon of national pride—a place that reflects the dignity and values of the Liberian people.
