The Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT) has announced its full return to operations after the Honorable Supreme Court ruled and denied Anita Group/ Gracious Ride petition thereby legitimizing the constitutional power of Executive Order #126 on February 18, 2025, of the Task Force.

Speaking at a press briefing hosted by the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism (MICAT), AREPT Chairperson, Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin emphasized the Task Forceโ€™s renewed commitment to fighting corruption and holding individuals accountable for illegally possessing government assets.

The ruling follows nine months of legal challenges initiated by Anita Group/Gracious Ride, which questioned the constitutional basis of Executive Order No. 126. The Supreme Courtโ€™s February 18, 2025, decision solidified AREPTโ€™s authority to investigate and recover stolen assets on behalf of the Government of Liberia.
