The Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT) has announced its full return to operations after the Honorable Supreme Court ruled and denied Anita Group/ Gracious Ride petition thereby legitimizing the constitutional power of Executive Order #126 on February 18, 2025, of the Task Force.

Speaking at a press briefing hosted by the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism (MICAT), AREPT Chairperson, Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin emphasized the Task Forceโs renewed commitment to fighting corruption and holding individuals accountable for illegally possessing government assets.

The ruling follows nine months of legal challenges initiated by Anita Group/Gracious Ride, which questioned the constitutional basis of Executive Order No. 126. The Supreme Courtโs February 18, 2025, decision solidified AREPTโs authority to investigate and recover stolen assets on behalf of the Government of Liberia.
