The Office of the Asset Recovery Task Force welcomes the reappointment of Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin as Chairman following the signing of Executive Order No. 145 by His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia. This Executive Order amends and renews the previous Executive Order No. 126, reaffirming the governmentโ€™s commitment to recovering stolen assets.

With this renewed mandate, the Asset Recovery Task Force will continue its mission to investigate, trace, recover, and prosecute cases of illegal conversion of public assets by current and former officials of government. The task force remains committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice in the fight against corruption and the restoration of fixed and liquid assets for national development.

In addition to Cllr. Martinโ€™s continued leadership, the Task Force will be strengthened by a team of professionals, including:

The Asset Recovery Task Force will operate under the Office of the Minister of State for Special Services and work in collaboration with key institutions such as the Ministry of Justice, Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, Liberia Revenue Authority, Financial Intelligence Agency, and the Office of the Ombudsman, among others.

Chairman Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin expressed gratitude to President Boakai for the continued trust and pledged the Task Forceโ€™s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all government assets unlawfully taken are identified, retrieved, and returned to the people of Liberia.

โ€œThe Presidentโ€™s decision to extend the mandate of this Task Force is a clear signal that Liberia is serious about tackling corruption and strengthening good governance. We will pursue all cases with diligence and impartiality, ensuring that those responsible for the illegal conversion of public assets are held accountable,โ€ Cllr. Martin stated.

The public is encouraged to support the efforts of the Task Force by providing credible information on assets suspected to have been illegally acquired. Together, we can restore integrity and protect Liberiaโ€™s resources for future generations.
