Capitol Hill, Monrovia – In a striking display of patriotism and people-centered leadership, Hon. James M. Kolleh, Representative of Jorquelleh District #2, Bong County, proved once again why he is regarded as a true servant of the people. On a day when heavy rainfall might have kept many away, he stood with Liberians who gathered at the Capitol to demand urgent action against the rising tide of drug abuse and trafficking.

Hundreds of citizens, united by a common concern for Liberia’s future, converged at the Legislature to present a petition calling for stronger national response to the drug epidemic. As the rain poured down, uncertainty filled the air—would their voices be heard? That uncertainty turned into hope when Hon. Kolleh, alongside Hon. Toles and other legislators, braved the storm to meet the people face-to-face.

His presence in the rain was more than symbolic. It was a powerful statement of solidarity and service. Hon. Kolleh reminded Liberians that leadership is not about comfort but about courage, sacrifice, and responsibility.

Speaking during the gathering, Hon. Kolleh, who chairs the House Committee on Rules, Orders, and Administration, described the drug crisis as a national emergency that demands urgent attention.

“This issue is not for one district, one county, or one lawmaker—it is Liberia’s problem,” he declared.

He assured the petitioners that their plea would not be ignored.

“As Chairman, I will ensure this petition is placed on the legislative agenda for discussion. Later today, the responsible committee will officially receive it for further legislative action.”

In a time when trust in leadership is fragile, Hon. Kolleh’s actions spoke louder than words. By standing in the storm with the people, he showed what real leadership looks like—accessible, accountable, and responsive.

As Bong County and the rest of Liberia grapple with the devastating impact of drugs on families and communities, Hon. James M. Kolleh’s voice brings hope. His actions continue to inspire a new wave of leadership built on courage, service, and integrity.

Truly, Hon. James M. Kolleh stands as the emblem of a true leader—The Voice and Choice of the Young People.
